Are you waiting for your breakthrough?
When you’re called to do something you’ve never done before, it can be extremely intimidating. You may feel insecure about venturing into unfamiliar territory.
It can feel like all of your past experiences and expertise are completely useless in this new place. In this place called “HERE”… It’s like starting all over from scratch. The teacher now becomes the student, the parent becomes the child, and at times… it seems as though the doctor becomes the patient.
Transitioning from one relationship to another, one mindset to another, or moving from one place to another can cause someone to feel lost when it is unexpected.
I’ve tried to mourn the doors that somehow closed around me without my permission. I even tried to rush ahead using my own strength, but speeding forward in complete darkness, in a direction that I was unsure of, caused me to lose my peace for a season.
While losing relationships and opportunities, I remembered that there is a place called “Here”.
I’ve found that while I was in that uncomfortable and sometimes frustrating place, it was a process with God. It wasn’t a process to destroy me, but a lesson on how to wait well. For example, when I didn’t see how I was going to make ends meet, I needed to keep the right heart posture of love towards myself and others.
I needed to remind myself of what God said about me in His word. How we wait can make a difference, not only in the outcome at the end of the wait, but how long we have to stay in the process. Just look at the children of Israel in the wilderness. (Numbers 32:13) I needed to glean whatever lessons I needed, so that I could be prepared for whatever and wherever God has called me to.
There is one thing that we can draw from our yesterday though. We know that it took more than just ourselves to get to today. Therefore, it would take more than our own understanding to get to the place called “THERE”.
Let’s trust God to guide us through the unfamiliar places that we find ourselves in. Remembering that He was God before, He’s God now, and His love for us will never end.
Let’s shine our lights brightly and unapologetically while we are “HERE”, trusting that our tomorrow is in the hands of our more than capable Heavenly Father.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
5) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
