Obstacles may arise as you push to achieve your goals. Since your dreams are calling, here are just a few tips to guide you along the way.
Have you ever felt like when you finally set time aside to focus on your assignment, project, or craft, there seem to be little fires that pop up out of nowhere?
Each one seemed more dire than the last. When you finally finish putting them out, do you find it hard to regroup or refocus? I’ve found that I had been so exhausted physically and emotionally that I had put the project off for another time. Sometimes, it’s not until a week or so that I realize I wasted so much time. I would get frustrated that I allowed myself to get distracted (a trick of the enemy), and then tried to make up for it. The danger of that is burnout.
Setting time aside just to focus on the vision is important, but setting boundaries is also essential. For example, if I know that eating a meal with my family at least once a day is a priority, I need to set a clear understanding of when that would be (typically), share my time goals and need per day to complete my goal with those around me, leave room for valid interruptions and defining what those are, then finally, stick to what we agreed upon.
Lack of resources can be another obstacle that may stand in your way if you let it.
If you’re writing a book, learning a new skill, or creating an afterschool program for underprivileged children, by all means…Build It! Wherever God will lead you, he’ll be sure to feed you. I recommend doing what you can do while you wait on the Lord, but don’t let the appearance of lack stop you. God doesn’t start something that He doesn’t intend to finish! (Philippians 1:6) There is absolutely no greater closer of a deal than the Lord!
Remember that in Christ Jesus, the battle against frustration, distraction, and discouragement has already been overcome. Since He has given us the victory in this war against our purpose, let us keep our focus on God and remember that He is with us and for us. If he is in it, we are sure to win it! Let’s get moving and keep rejoicing along the way. Your dreams are calling!
